Dr. Sanjay Sharma joined Southern Crescent Nephrology in 2006, after completing his nephrology fellowship from West Virginia University.  Dr. Sharma also completed a fellowship in geriatrics from Duke University and his residency at McLaren Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of Michigan State University.  During his residency, he was honored as a “Resident of the Year” and received the “Special Ambassador Award” for outstanding performance during his training. He was also first rank holder in final medical school exams. Dr. Sharma has practiced internal medicine for many years prior to his fellowship training. His area of special interest is Chronic kidney disease, Hypertension, and Dialysis. Dr. Sharma currently serves as medical director at Davita Jonesboro and Davita Tricounty dialysis facility.  Dr. Sharma was also recognized as one of the “Top Doctors” in nephrology by Atlanta magazine in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020,  2021, 2022, and 2023. Dr. Sharma is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Nephrology. In his leisure time, he enjoys photography, travel and music.
